Healthcare Researcher
Beskrivelse Healthcare is a prioritised area for DNV with our current activities including hospital accreditation / certification against ISO 9001 and our US NIAHO standard (National Integrated Accreditation for Healthcare Organizations), and our hospital risk management activities together with the NHS Litigation Authority in the UK. To support our international ambitions to grow healthcare we are establishing a healthcare group within DNV Research & Innovation. The objective of DNV R&I is to ensure long term innovation and business growth in support of the overall DNV strategy by identifying new technology trends and establishing new competency areas in DNV.
Working together with our operative healthcare units the successful candidate will support the work to identify research areas and projects that could support existing services or lead to the development of new services or business opportunities. Likely focus areas may be the development and measurement of healthcare quality indicators, issues around patient safety, and developing risk management models for hospital environments - however other areas might also be explored.
Tasks You will be a key player in a small team that will establish healthcare research and innovation activities within DNV. The position will involve supporting the group leader to identify, assess and develop potential research themes and projects. Activities will include profiling DNV Healthcare activities by publishing in relevant media channels, including academic journals where relevant. The candidate will also be expected to support service development and wider business development activities.
Qualifications Ideally you will have a clinical background with at least 5 years experience working in hospitals, some of which should include management experience.
Personal qualities An interest in healthcare quality issues and/or patient safety or hospital risk management will be essential. Additional training in clinical epidemiology, infection control, health economics or medical statistics would also be desirable. In addition you are ambitious, goal orientated and reliable. You have good communication skills and can function well in a small but international team. Through cross-disciplinary work with colleagues world-wide, you will find possibilities for personal growth within a prioritized area for DNV and opportunities for an international career.
